The Let-Down Kid.

So, I had to take my shower in the dark this morning, seeing as we have no electricity in our room, save the air conditioner and a light outside the bathroom. Add that to the list of unpleasant quirks at the Flamenco. The list really begins with April and me getting stuck in an elevator the other day. We were on our way up to the eleventh floor, where our room is, and the elevator was pretty full. We stopped at 7 of the 11 floors before it was just me and April in the elevator. We got up to between the 9th and 10th floors, and the elevator shut down, dropped to the 6th floor, flashed G on the display screen, shot back up to the twelfth and eventually stopped again on the tenth floor, where we got off. Both of us were seriously rattled. I walked down to reception to let them know that the two of us just got stuck and were pretty upset about it, and all they said was that they'd look into it. Not cool. I walked back up to the 11th floor, which ends up to be almost 13 flights, and by the time I got all the way up, I was exhausted, aggravated and generally fed up with a few things.

I try not to complain because, really, we're living the high life right now and I'm trying really hard to appreciate it, I'm just so tired lately. We've all been going non-stop for the past two weeks without just a day to relax. We haven't really had a day yet with absolutely nothing planned. Even today, we didn't have class but we were still expected somewhere at a certain time when all I wanted to do was stay in bed all day and not move. I want to be able to go home and take a week off without having to go to class or listen to relentless traffic or wonder whether or not my room is going to have electricity or internet when I wake up.

I keep telling myself to appreciate what I'm doing and to cherish every moment of it, but at this point, I'm ready for my summer to start.
